Had my mandatory shop tour n safety briefing at the glass working facility in our workshop today. Got a lesson in bead making with a steel mandrel. The lumpy beads are the best, that way you know they are handmade! Yeah! …. well, the more I practice, the better. Beads are annealing in kiln, this is 104CF soft glass and would Crack in open air if we let the bead cool enough to show the colors. To my happy surprise, pulling stringers is MUCH easier with soft glass than borosilicate. See the nice long blue stringers I pulled over on the right. Woo hoo!
