Four of the five buds on the first stalk of the amaryllis have bloomed. I'm really really happy with it. I've been reading online that amaryllis are very easy to propagate. In a day or three when the stamens have opened fully, I'll clip a pistil or two and paint them with pollen. Then the amaryllis should develop viable seed pods.
