Well, this is bad news. The allegedly safe sane snail bait using iron phosphate turns out to have an inert ingredient that actually triggers the iron toxicity to snails– and can affect earthworms in your garden. And isn’t great for pets either. Yet Sluggo is certified ‘organic’ by OMRI. Turns out in the US the mfr doesn’t have to list that inert ingredient, but does in Australia, so that’s how folks found out. headdesk At least we know now.
