Senator Dianne Feinstein,
Senator Barbara Boxer,
Representative Anna Eshoo
Thank you for your diligence and excellent representation in the US Congress.
I am writing today to urge you to oppose any and all legislation that would restrict or deny marriage to same-sex couples.
It has taken me a couple of days to get my dropped jaw off the floor and write. I am absolutely appalled and horrified that people are wasting time, energy, and taxpayer dollars on debating whether certain people can form a civil and legal bond and assume the obligations and responsibilities it entails.
Meanwhile, the United States has become a nation with its own internal KGB equivalent, starting wars in other countries to protect Big Oil, trashing the environment, and running up the most enormous deficit on record merely half a dozen years since we had an almost balanced budget.
While I know that you ladies are almost always on the side of what I consider to be applied common sense and civic duty, my message to the cretinous and easily distracted amongst your colleagues is “get back to work!” As someone recently pointed out in a national political and technical forum (Prof David Farber’s “Interesting People” list), do the folks voting against same-sex marriage want to be remembered as bigots or as cowardly panderers seeking re-election? What a lovely set of choices.
Sincerely,
