Or perhaps the dep't of redundancy dep't, at least so far as the title goes.
Just came off a (for me) rather grueling week and a day of no-flex time, babysitting a customer site while its manager and sr unix admin were away. Yesterday, much garden cleanup fu: picked last colander of peas, took down vines– had missed a few peas in the thicket, which had matured fully and split the pods, so the peas were doing their self-destruct sequence and had browned out about 4 feet up the 9-foot vines already. Committed complete havoc upon the remainder of the cilantro forest, which had all bolted out. Moved citrus trees out of greenhouse, up to sunny front area alongside house. Put chinese long beans at carport pillar, to climb up and grow. Chivvied the big half-barrel planter up to the side of the house, so it's no longer straddling the property line. Amazing that the stupid ispell knows 'chivvied' but not 'thingie' or 'babysitting'. Jeez.
Also did general cleanup n errands. Went to OSH to get hang-up thingies, TJ's & Safeway for groceries, the bank to deposit stuff, Petco for more puff chow and That Which Soaks Up Processed Puff Chow (we're really liking the Swheat litter, and less dust than clay or silica litter means happier lungs for yrs truly and the puffs). Hung up ladder-hangers and both ladders (8-ft step, umpteen ft extension). Hung up rack-bar and a pair of vertical bike holders. Need to move them over and clear tool clutter in back– will make room for tool-holder rack-bar thingie. Put little fake picket-fence thingie in front of flowers along fence (need another, more length there than I factored in).
Today, complete slacking so far– cat adoration, cornflakes & blueberries, long shower, re-reading pleasantly old-celt fantasy novel (Night of the Wolf, Alice Borchardt), listening to rain, making the weekend herb blogging deadline, shopping online for some stuff I've been meaning to get for a while.
OK, I'm set for summer now, and can fully migrate some of my rattier warm-weather clothes to the 'garden & exercise' bin. Though since I've been working out at the Decath, I've been wearing nicer stuff to work out in– this ain't the Y, and some of these folks are wearing workout gear that probably cost more than my best suit.
Oh yeah, and then I had to tally it all up and log into the bank to do an xfer from my account to the joint account, since discretionary clothes stuff comes out of my own budget. I could make a case for the pants, as those will be primarily for work, but eh. Paid a couple of bills, including filing the stupid $0.00 bill that Amex sends us every month that we don't use that card. Wish they wouldn't do that, or that e-bills would grok to just auto-file it.
OK, it's way lunchtime. And it's stopped raining, so I should get it in gear and do some more garden-y work.
