Thank you for your diligence and excellent representation in the US Congress.
I am writing today to urge you to oppose the “Gas Price Relief and Rebate” amendment to HR 4939 as long as it includes any drilling in any current refuge or marine protected area.
Please keep the Arctic Wildlife Refuge protected, and keep drilling OUT of it. Please don’t let Frist & co substitute drilling in any marine sanctuaries or other land-based reserves if they agree to remove the Arctic refuge from the amendment.
It would be lovely to simply drop the practice of adding zillions of unrelated pet-project amendments to budget and other vital legislation, but I understand that’s not the way the political world works, alas. But let’s at least get rid of this silly one.
