…and try to ditch some of that cynicism myself.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,
Senator Barbara Boxer
Thank you for your diligence and excellent representation in the US Congress.
I am writing today to urge you to oppose any legislation that follows in the footsteps of H.R. 3824 (i.e., that would weaken or undercut the Endangered Species Act).
I’m completely appalled that H.R. 3824 was sponsored by a California legislator—not from my district, and I must have been asleep at the switch. Today’s focus seems to be on short-term payoffs, but the Endangered Species Act is for the long-term. Sure, some people want to get rid of the Endangered Species Act to promote development and jobs. Well, what happens when the land is finally used up? It’s just impoverishing the future for expediency today.
Of course, given that this is the Great Deficit Administration, nobody cares. Except Democrats like us. If only Clinton could have kept his pants on—this country had such a chance at going without a deficit. China won’t keep buying US Treasuries forever. Anyway. You folks know all this, and I’m just venting.
Maybe it will liven up the day of some bored intern, and let him or her know that, yes, voters who CARE are out there. You’re making a difference, keep it up. Try not to let the culture of cynicism get to you, remember you’re working for the ordinary people out there and some of them do give a damn, and appreciate your hard work.
Sincerely,
Strata R Chalup
