Mike boiled up a spaghetti squash tonight while I was at the chiropractor's after work. Since that was a good start to a feast, I put a big turkey breast into the oven; dropped a few cloves of garlic into the pan with some olive oil, sprinkled rubbed sage, paprika, and that old standby Bell's Seasoning onto it. Mike did his camera 'dunk test' for Sunday's dives while the turkey baked and the squash cooled. While I finished assembling the pie, Mike steamed broccoli in the nukrowave.
Now the pie is bubbly, though we're too full to eat it– yet. Feastival! I'd just thought I'd end up cooking that turkey for sandwiches– this was a much more fun way to start in on it.
And there'll be pie for breakfast, yum! New Englanders, even those stuck in California, like a bit of breakfast pie with sharp cheddar or havarti melted on top.
Life is good so far. Not always easy, but we are very lucky. Thanks, Universe.
