Fought off a cold all last week, with limited success. Managed to make part of TagCamp on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, met some nifty folks. Way too dead for anything Saturday night, despite many options.
Sunday was 'catch up on house project day', much of which involved holding a ladder for Mike on his trips to the roof, and an appointment with an elderly nun to design gardens for the differently-abled gardener. I kid you not– recently got involved with the Sunnyvale Community Garden group. They were counting on us to get a plan ready for tomorrow's meeting (Tues night) so it can be added to the rest of the plan for an upcoming city council meeting.
Unfortunately all the stuff I that I'd committed to doing Sunday made me unable to do any of the fun things that came along, which sucked rocks. Am very tired of doing the stuff I'm supposed to do, and on which people are counting, instead of having fun. Sigh.
Had to go home early from work today, freezing cold and very tired, took a couple hour nap. Worked on slides tonight for a deadline, got the first batch in, two batches to go. We put little raisin boxes, fruit-nut bars, and other pre-wrapped, reasonably healthy stuff out on a dish on the steps, and had several groups of trick-or-treat kids come through. Mike called me on the radio during his walk, and reminded me of the 'evil eyes'– the pair of $1.99 blinky eyes I had gotten a few weeks ago on sale. I put batteries in 'em and put them on the porch window. Didn't do a pumpkin (AGAIN), since I hate to waste one. Will try to pick up one of those fake ones of hard foam that can be carved once and re-used– should be on sale now that Halloween is over.
To-do list growing exponentially, and I really MUST ditch this cold. My FTP upload is done, about 40+ tabs worth of Safari bookmarks captured so I can do a shutdown (because something's acting wonky, which is common when it's been up a few days), and it's late. G'nite.
