I got a *lot* done in the garden this morning. I ended up pulling down not only the spaghetti squash vine, but pulling out the butterstick squash plant– I let it grow too many big squash, it was giving up.
I planted the 'minnesota midget' melon seedling I got a couple of weeks ago next to the fence out there, and also planted the catnip seedling at the edge of the puff lawn. 🙂
Picked beans, tomatoes (roma!), basil, and herbs. Saving beans to cook later.
Made a big batch of veggie stew with fresh roma & cherry tomatoes, green n yellow squash, herbs, a sweet pepper, and chickpeas, now in the fridge on the bottom shelf.
Stir-fried up the rest of the polenta with some yellow squash, basil, and sun-dried tomatoes; ate half, the other half is in a glass dish in the fridge for breakfast tomorrow. Dubliner-style Illinois cheddar is a better match for this than I thought it would be. My fontina went biological, so I had to improvise.
Honey whole wheat bread for my Fish just came out of the breadmaker and got wrapped in a dishtowel. I might have a bite or two, but I am flirting with an ear infection from so much bread over the past 2 – 3 weeks, so am going gluten cold-turkey. After only 2 days, I already feel *much* better.
Yay going to sleep early n getting up early! *THIS* is why I wanted to do consulting, to be able to have a day doing stuff that means things to me sometimes. Crashed out at almost 5pm yesterday after work, work up at 9pm, had dinner, went to bed at 11, and woke up rested at 7am. w00t. Now off to work.
