I've been too busy to post much, although my social calendar does get picked up in my friends' journals a bit. 🙂
All is reasonably well. Doesn't look like it will become less busy anytime soon, but I'm still social, I'm just not taking time to write about it. BTW, the place next door to ours is for sale. LOTS of garden space, same sunlines as ours. Central air, yada yada. I think they're asking too much, and can be talked down. Would love to have neighbors we know!
Garden continues to reach for the sky– grapevine and yellow-pear tomato plant both are level with the top of the neighbor's carport. Yikes. Made pact with local gardener dude to get rid of the gravel alongside the house near the back patio, put in a 'bonsai grass' (his term) dwarf fescue type lawn-y strip of 4' x 16', which we'll fence in for the cats. Then the cat flap will go into the porch wall, plus a little ramp, and the puffs will have an outdoor grassy knoll^H^H lawn.
Poor little things haven't been able to play on grass since Florida, and even though they seem quite content inside, I know they long for the outdoors. It's the best compromise I have for them between letting them out (quite dangerous around here) and keeping them in. I hope they'll love it. I'm going to put a planter box behind it and trail honeysuckle or similar up it, which will keep it from being too obvious from the street, and also provide screening. We officially only have ONE cat, she just changes color from time to time.
Will be staying up in SF this weekend with a friend for Pride weekend (first time). Might or might not do the Parade as well. Small steps are better than huge ones. I'd certainly have a choice of contingents to walk with: bi, poly, leather. Never been part of Pride weekend before, but it's at least 20 years overdue. If you'll be up there too, let me know, I'd like to find familiar folks.
