Had a lovely time at the smOdyssey Spring Party. Chatted and 'mingled' more with folks than usual, as faces are becoming more familiar as we attend more local events. Still don't really know many folks to say hi to, but it takes a while.
Mike and I played a bit, but didn't go too far as the space wasn't really conducive to it– too lighted, too crowded, too much of a sense of bystanders. In some venues it's like being in your own little world, but not this time. After we'd stowed our gear, I got my reward session. There was no comfy place for footrubs, so I had Mike brush out my hair. He'd never tried that before, but very soon realized the key was long, slow, crown to hair-end brush strokes, with just enough push that the bristles fully engage the scalp (but not too hard!). It's mesmerizing, and I just disappear into it.
I was sitting on the sidelines, completely blissed-out on hair/scalp brushing, and a very cute lady came up and chatted with me. I felt like I was half underwater, and my replies were slow and almost languid. I felt like I was holding court in some fashion. She stayed quite a while, and I finally 'dismissed' her by telling her how much I enjoyed meeting her and that I hoped to see her again at one of the local munches that we'd discussed. Then I got to sink back into the sensation of being groomed for a bit longer. A very splendid evening.
