It was only a small parade, just Mike and myself. When he got home he said, 'hey, since you've been relaxing all day, you have to come walking with me'. So we did, and got sprinkled on, and when that wasn't enough to dissuade us, later we got fairly enthusiastically rained on.
We did get to see a nice full rainbow for our troubles, and it acquired 100+ degrees of secondary arc coming up from both sides, so that was nice.
A 45-minute walk tired me out, though, which is lousy. Gotta get back into it. Less work, more walks. MUST DO.
We're both a little freaked right now, since two different friends, both of whom we regard as fairly fit and active, and who are in their early to mid 50's, have had to take time off from diving due to health issues. One may have had a minor stroke or TIA, and the other is concerned about his heart. Gah. We've been holding these folks up to ourselves as shining examples of how one can stay active diving as one gets older, and then poof, trouble. We still know lots of older divers through the dive club, folks in their 60's and older, but we don't think of them as peers so much as exceptional individuals, a kind of 'best of breed'. This strikes a lot closer to home, and provides a wake-up call– could be *us* in that situation in 5 – 10 years, scary!
