Life got abruptly better at about 2:30pm PST, when we parked Birdie in her new home in the storage lot at Plaza del Rey.
We still have to go back tonight and get the big potted rosebush, the grapevine, and the tall orange tree, plus a handful of remaining kibbles-n-bits from the shed. We still have big furniture to move from the storage locker on Tully. But none of that matters the same way. Having Birdie secure at the new site means we are officially MOVED and the rest is just mop-up.
It was a pleasure to take her on the highway again, and an effort to hold her below the low 50's. Birdie normally cruises at 57 – 63, depending on terrain, and she was clearly feeling like it had been too long since she's flown. Mike drove behind in the truck, with the flashers on, but that proved to be caution, rather than necessity.
Now we can clean her up, fix some more things, and start enjoying having a motorhome, instead of a too-small dwelling place. Camping trips to Russian River, Lake del Valle, diving trips up and down the coast (Albion, Mendocino, Gaviota, etc) are now a pleasant contemplation. Yeeha!
