The bird feeder has attracted quite the little chirpy crowd. I put it up the day before yesterday, and clearly the locals have discovered it.
There are a lot of little chirpy songbirdy types around here. The morning hours shortly after dawn are lovely.
We are still not fully moved in, but we are moved in enough to start enjoying the place. I think it was Le Corbusier who described a house as 'a machine for living'. I'm able to run a couple of loads of laundry through while starting my day over the VPN. We have an insta-hot tap on the sink, so I can rinse out my coffee cup to warm it, then make my low-acid instant coffee (Kava, for the curious). I set up the blender last night, and this morning had a banana with milk and peanut butter, blended, for breakfast. I'll be able to make pancakes trivially, too.
After 5 years in 850 square feet, then 33 months in 248 square feet, I feel like I'm in a mansion of luxury here in 1440 square feet. Birdie, the big one with wheels, will move to the storage yard this week, and we'll start fixing her up, poor thing, after a long time of hard use. Since we don't plan on fulltiming with cats anytime again soon, we can finally reupholster.
