I've got my big notebook of CD's set up next to the computer, and have been digitizing stuff into iTunes, something I have only done with about a third of my CD collection so far.
I just hit my first CDDB lookup failure, on Wendy Carlos' Digital Moonscapes. Now come on, I can't be the *only* geek out there with this disk. Maybe I'm just the *last* geek to import it into something, and the rest didn't register.
Sheesh.
Sometime I need to bug Dale and see about digitizing my old vinyl, or just bite the bullet and try to find it on disc. Lotta lotta old Synergy albums and some other obscure stuff. Also need to upload stuff off DAT into iTunes, dunno how well that'll go. My only copy of Amin Bhatia's Interstellar Suite is on DAT, along with Happy the Man.
My tastes in music haven't really changed in the past 20+ years, only the amount of time I spend listening to the music I really like. Bah. Am really enjoying having my keyboard set up in the livingroom now, and plinking away whenever I feel like. I'm filling up the memory, though, and need to get the MIDI interface up so I can import into GarageBand or Soundtrack. Eventually.
I'll have to check the disc once 'Moonscapes finishes digitizing. If there aren't track titles, I'll have to find my pile of CD labels, which I don't keep in the notebook, so I can update CDDB. Cheep thrills! But hey, find 'em where ya can.
