…but the Universe hasn't quite mown my lawn yet. Did I mention 'yet'?
Today's plans involved many things which did not occur, ranging from gardening missions at OSH to trying last minute planning for the Chinese New Year parade in SF tonight.
Instead, I woke up to find that yesterday's intermittent abdominal pains had become, um, non-intermittent and increasing in intensity. Got to my normal clinic's urgent care center by 10:30am, maybe a bit sooner. By the time I got out at 6pm (of El Camino Hospital, to which I'd been transferred for tests), I definitely considered myself the Lucky Winner for 'merely' having an ovarian cyst big enough to show up on the CT scan. Rather than requiring an appendectomy, which was Option A. Gah.
Of course, since the initial symptoms were consistent with appendicitis, I didn't have anything to eat or drink all day in case I ended up in surgery. At least being on an IV for several hours minimized the dehydration. Of course, it had to be on the hand, since I was already dehydrated by the time they shipped me off to ECH.
There is actually an Option C, which is that the inflamed lymph nodes in the area of the appendix, could be causing most of the pain that is otherwise attributable to the ovarian cyst. Gah.
